Josh Kidd has been working in ministry for over 12 years. He didn’t start off knowing that ministry was his calling. However, when God wants to accomplish his will, it is impossible to refuse! He served as a youth minister for congregations in Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. In August 2007 he transitioned into pulpit ministry working with the Church in Clayton New Mexico. After four years of pulpit ministry, doors began to open that led back to youth and family ministry here at Lee Acres.
Josh’s wife Amber was a children’s minister for several years in Tennessee and Oklahoma. She is a 2005 graduate of York College in York, Nebraska and has a degree in Religious Studies as well as a degree in Communications. After the birth of their daughter, she returned to school to pursue a Master’s degree in elementary education. She loves working with children and is excited to start working in an elementary school.
The Kidd’s have two wonderful children Jackson (9) and Lily (3).
I was raised in Millington, Tennessee, along with 6 fantastic siblings, in the Church of Christ. I have worshiped with Christians in Memphis, TN, Jackson, MS and now in Tupelo, MS. I have been in Tupelo for 16 years and at Lee Acres for 10 years. In the past I faced a divorce after 44 years of marriage. God has graciously walked with me every step of the way along that road. I have been blessed with four children and ten wonderful grandchildren.
I was baptized at the age of 12, but I fell in love with Jesus Christ 15 years ago. My life has not been the same since. He has taken me on quite a journey! I’m learning to trust him completely and lean on him explicitly. This is not always easy and sometimes I fail, but I know that he will “never leave me or forsake me”! I was looking for a place to worship my God in the way I feel He wanted me to without being a novelty.
I’m very excited about my relationship with Him and I want to be able to express those feelings and I have found the freedom to do so here at Lee Acres. In learning to live as a single Christian, I have broadened my interest to include motorcycles, plays, travel, many new friends and other interesting venues that I have not tried before. I so enjoy working here at the church and meeting the needs of others.
I look forward to getting to know each and every new member we have join us. I believe God has a plan for each of us and I personally look forward to what is “next” for me!
